Magpie Season Back Again

Bicyclists are again being harassed by swooping magpies as the mating time of year returns.
As in previous years there is one bird which really dislikes cyclists. His preferred spot to keep an eye on his territory is one of the light poles along Bellvista Blvd between Stornaway and Dumbarton. This particular bird has been around for the last few years and it appears he is back to haunt cyclists again
At this stage walkers appear safe but any cyclists are on his radar.
It is surprising the number of cyclists who do not wear helmets, especially at this time of year when marauding magpies are out and about.
BeCA suggests cyclists should always wear a helmet at any time of the year.
If you are a keen bike rider just keep an eye out for these birds and please wear a helmet. Pedestrians should tread warily also … just in case!
