Recently BeCA was invited to a meeting with Pratt Property’s Leanne Jones to discuss what could be next for the Bellvista Tavern site.
After much consideration the Tavern’s owners have decided to leave the site and concentrate on their new business, The Baringa Tavern. The covid19 pandemic sounded the death knell for the Bellvista property which since being closed down, had seen several break ins. Following the break ins, all stock was removed from the site. It is expected the site will be vacated over the next few weeks.
Several of BeCA’s Management Committee attended a meeting with Leanne for ideas on what could fill the site. It may require a major refit to accommodate the new tenants. However the restaurant class kitchen will be retained with the hope that one new tenant would be a ‘family’ style restaurant.
BeCA pushed for something a little different to the run of the mill Thai and Indian restaurants which abound along the Coast. Perhaps a ‘different’ food style which would attract custom from other nearby areas would be viable.
The current doctor appears to be all but fully booked so another doctor’s surgery was seen as a possible need along with allied medical services e.g. chiropractor, physio therapy or psychology services.
Other Take Away food shops would fill a void as would the possibility of $2 Shop. Leanne is keen to contact Stockland to ensure what ever shops and services are provided do not clash with what is or is soon to be available at Baringa.
Since the meeting, BeCA had arranged contact between Pratt Property and Stockland.
We await any update from Pratt Property.
