Welcome back to 2014. BeCA hopes everyone has had a great Christmas break and is now ready for the New Year!
The Bellvista Gardening Team from the SCRC has begun work for 2014. The de-amalgamation with Noosa now creating its own Council area has had an impact on the Bellvista Gardening Team’s members. Matt has moved to Noosa Council (much closer to his Coolum home) and is working in the Botanical Gardens there.
Mick now runs the Bellvista Team along with newcomer Leah. We welcome them both back for 2014.
When possible, Mick hopes to cut back the garden along the edge of the lake footpath just near the Stornaway Ave/Lomond Cres roundabout. Click on the photo left for a larger view. Hopefully there will be regrowth. If this doesn’t work out he plans to re plant sections of those gardens.
BeCA is slowly starting up for 2014. We have gained the interest of a couple from Bells Reach who wish to become involved with BeCA. They will attend our February Committee Meeting and get a feel for the Association. We believe this is a great move forward for Bells Reach and will give Bells Reach residents a vocal voice with BeCA.
The 20mls of rain received overnight Sunday and throughout Monday will green the parks and give all plants a much deserved drink. SCRC mowing Sub-contractors have again descended on our parks and given them a mow despite the wet weather on Monday. They look great again now. This team does a wonderful job maintaining the parks in very good condition.
The de-amalgamation of Noosa Council may have a dark outcome for Bellvista and Bells Reach residents. One of the first decisions to be made by the new council will be to ban commercial helicopter take-offs and landings at Teewah Airport. This is one of four local airports used by Becker Helicopters in the extensive Helicopter Pilot Training Program. This may force more Becker Helicopter training flights to Caloundra Aerodrome and could see an increase in repetitive circuits by helicopters over our estates.
BeCA is seeking to liaise with Becker Helicopters early this year to have discussions on repetitive circuits by Becker Helicopters over our homes.
