BeCA has contacted Pratt Property following reports that a resident tripped over a raised edge on a pathway at Bellvista Market Place (BMP) recently. The pathway has a raised edge and is the same color as the surrounding carpark spaces. The pathway connects a pedestrian crossing near the entrance to the BMP carpark and the western side of the new Tavern.
The resident who fell had both hands full of plastic shopping bags, didn’t spot the raised pathway edge and tripped. Because he was holding bags with both hands he was unable to break his fall.
BeCA has contacted Pratt Property to either paint the dangerous raised pathway edges or erect barrier rails to separate pedestrians from carpark spaces.
The new Tavern is a construction site and residents using BMP need to remain vigilant when near the construction site.
