Public Meeting Arrangements:
It seems the Public Meeting with Translink to discuss recent bus stop closures will be conducted at 2pm sharp on Tuesday June 18th at the Bellvista Meeting Place.
Translink had the opportunity to pick any suitable time and date for this meeting. They have opted for Tuesday June 18th and have allowed a mere 30 minutes for the meeting. BeCA has requested this time allowance be extended and the answer from Translink is ‘they will try’. Evidently they have meetings in Brisbane to return to that afternoon yet they selected the most appropriate day and time!
They have requested that around up to 50 residents only attend. No press is to be admitted into the meeting.
The Bellvista Meeting Place doors will be opened at 1:45 and the first 50 people will be admitted on a first come first served basis.
In an email today to Translink, President Les Thomas said he was looking forward to chairing the meeting and this has not been contested by Translink at the time of writing this post.
It is crucial that residents attend and be prepared to voice their concerns on bus stop closures to Translink representatives.
A 2pm sharp beginning to the meeting will ensure residents get the maximum time possible to voice all concerns.
