Here is a follow up on the line of sight issue at Bells Reach referred to in an earlier post. The intersection in question is just after you enter the Bells Reach Estate via Bells Reach Drive just near the Land Sales Office, Pod Cafe and Quinn Park.
Indigo Road is the major thoroughfare for traffic entering and travelling through the estate. You can enter Bells Reach via Indigo Rd near the Dumbarton Drive roundabout off Bellvista Blvd. You can then follow Indigo Drive all the way through to Bells Reach Drive, turn right at the intersection in the photo and leave Bells Reach at the Bellvista Blvd/Stornaway Drive roundabout.
All Indigo Rd traffic has ‘right of way’ from one end to the other. Indigo Rd is the road entry coming from the left beneath the street light in the photo.
If you live in Sapphire St, you enter the estate via Bells Reach Drive and head east. However you must give way to all traffic exiting Indigo Drive into Bells Reach Drive. The photo left shows a driver’s view as he approaches the intersection in question. (Click on the photo for a larger view).
Following an approach from BeCA regarding poor line of sight for drivers, Stockland has responded by indicating they will remove many of the trees blocking the view and replant them with trees which can have the lower limbs lopped to provide a much improved line of sight.
Stockland believes the “Active Park & Playground coming soon” “H” sign does not significantly block a driver’s line of sight and is not to be removed.
