BeCA was invited for a preview of one of the new 2 storey terrace apartments/units available at Bells Reach. The are priced from approx $205,000 for a 2 bedroom unit up to around $275,000 for the larger 3 bedroom design. The homes are ‘freehold’ and may be what some new home buyers are after. They wouldn’t suit everyone but for a young couple wanting to get into the property market at such a price, these units could be seen as a viable possibility.
They are architect designed and the feeling is they would hold their value very well indeed. Click on all photos for a larger view.
The Bower Unit/Apartment that BeCA visited was a three bedroom design and priced around $299,000 in the most recent land release. It is more like a 2+ bedroom design with the third bedroom having the option of being used as an office.
There are numerous ‘sliding doors’ throughout the unit enabling many of the rooms to be opened to the outside and catch any cooling breezes.
On the lower storey there is a small outdoor sitting area at the front of the home. Just inside is the 3rd smaller bedroom or office. Again there are sliding doors to capture any breeze. See below left. Also on this lower floor is the second bathroom with its own shower and separate toilet. Sliding doors allow cooling breezes to enter the good sized second bedroom also on the lower floor. See below right.
The sliding doors open onto a very small backyard.
An elongated 2 x ‘small car’ garage (one vehicle parked behind the other) and laundry space completes the lower storey. Photo below left. For those with a smaller single car this would allow the use of some of the excess space in the garage for extra general storage. There is plenty of storage space available under the wooden stairs as well. The kitchen area and main living areas are upstairs. The kitchen is modern and compact. A change in design for the next range of Bower Unit/Apartments will see more bench and kitchen storage space provided. Photo below right is of the current kitchen design.
The main living area is upstairs. There is a small outdoor and partly enclosed balcony off the main living area which overlooks the new park and adventure playground. Sliding doors at either end of the living area provide access to the small blacony or overlook the backyard. The main living area can be seen below left and the partially enclosed balcony below right.
The sliding doors here overlook the backyard and permit the through flow of cooling breezes. The upper rooms are air conditioned.
A second series of Bower designed homes like this is currently under construction and sales are extremely good.
