Shadforths have been requested to stop work at Bells Reach for the day by Stockland in an effort to keep the dust down following today’s horrific wind conditions. This shut down does not impact on other trades people who are working on new homes in the Bells Reach development. They are able to come and go as they wish.
Water Trucks have been busy all day attempting unsuccessfully to keep dust down. This appears to have had little impact as this photo of the bottom of a resident’s swimming pool indicates!
The wind is so strong it is blowing dust which had previously settled on the ground. Residents can only hope there is a drop in the wind or a change of wind direction in the near future.
BeCA President Les Thomas toured the estate with Cr Baberowski today bringing him up to date on a variety of issues effecting residents here at Bellvista. Cr Baberowski now knows a little more about the estate than he did yesterday and is more aware of some of our concerns. He also has first hand knowledge of issues such as the ‘missing’ pathway, the need for extra shade cover at Rawson St Park, the size of the Bells Reach development and other needs to provide better pathways around the estate.
BeCA has been informed that currently there is an ‘investigation’ being undertaken to move or create a second mail box point at Bellvista Market Place following our request. There are strict guidelines on the positioning of letter boxes. The preferred option would be a second box be installed at the shops but Australia Post would most likely prefer to move the current one.
BeCA has been informed that Stockland are arranging a meeting of all stakeholders to effect the transfer of the old Land Sales Office over to the SCRC and in turn onto BeCA to manage. There are many ‘arrangements’ and legalities which need to be made to see this through to the final hand over.
BeCA was contacted today by the Caloundra Weekly who wish to run a story on the naming of the main park Canavan Gracie Recreation Park. BeCA is aware the renaming has been approved but we are still waiting for ‘official’ renaming and signage availability.
BeCA has received a glowing email from a resident praising the work being done by the SCRC Bellvista Parks and Gardens team. The email mentions the wonderful work they are doing in pruning, re mulching, removing graffiti and keeping our estate looking its best. Cr Baberowski met the team today during his travels around the estate and they exchanged ideas and requests to make their job easier.
