Work has begun on the Sewer Upgrade along Bellvista Blvd south of the Bells Reach Rd roundabout. Much of the laying of the huge pipes will be from trenches dug by heavy machinery. There will be a section which will be drilled underground. This section runs below the Bells Reach Drive and by the way the temporary fencing has been constructed it will continue to run underground for around 50 metres until the trench method is again employed.
The photo shows pipe being prepared.
BeCA’s next meeting is a “Public Meeting” to be held at the Bellvista Meeting Place on Monday September 7th at 6:45 pm. We have some interesting speakers lined up to present those present with important information.
Jason Hunt, who was standing at the recent State Election as a Labor Party Candidate, is also an officer in the Queensland Correctional Services system. Jason will be able to provide a wide range of interesting facts and stories of his time working in that position. It promises to provide an insight into prison life.
Stockland’s Paul; McDonald will provide an update on the long awaited second entry road to the estate. The proposed road will run from the roundabout on Caloundra Road near Corbould Park Racecourse and head south. The current Bellvista Blvd when extended will swing to the west after crossing Lamerough Creek and link up with the new road providing a second entry/exit point for the estates. The completion of the new road must occur before Stockland can sell any land in the proposed Caloundra South.
Norm Jensen and Lorraine Hendy will make a presentation on the new Caloundra West Lions Club to be established in the area.
Cr Rick Baberowski will provide an update on what is happening and effecting our area from the Sunshine Coast Council perspective.
As usual, a hot drink and a biscuit will be on after the meeting for those wishing to pursue any items or just want to have a chat.
Mark it on your calendar, Monday September 7th at 6:45 pm for the next BeCA Public Meeting.
