Senior Constable Peter from Caloundra Police was in attendance at the March Public Meeting and reported that the elderly gent who robbed the Terry White Chemart Bellvista Chemist at Bellvista Market Place has been arrested and has been charged with armed robbery.
A car had been involved in an accident in Bellvista and had been left by its owner where it stood. When contacted by the police the owner said he no longer wanted the wrecked vehicle so police removed it to the local car wreckers.
Snr Constable Peter provided further updates on the traffic lights now in operation at the Nicklin Way/Caloundra Rd roundabout and provided further information on their operation. Police observations reported a steady improvement in traffic flow at peak times.
He reported on an increase in scam phone calls received by residents. He repeated not to give any personal information over the phone to any caller. He advised residents to hang up and if possible pass on the offending phone number to Scam Watch. (https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/)
