A BeCA management Committee member has a raingarden out the front of his home. It was looking OK but he decided to jump onto his account on the MyCouncil website and request Council visit and see if anything could be done to smarten it up.
A Council crew eventually popped around, did some tidying up, some remulching and planting and trimmed everything back nicely as the photo shows. Now the raingarden is looking great again.
At its recent meeting between BeCA and Council to discuss raingardens and their maintenance, this offer for residents was again on the table.
The website address for you to create your MyCouncil account is https://mycouncil.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/ Or you can contact Council on 07 5475 7272 where you will be put through to the relevant Council Department.
If you request action for your raingarden via the MyCouncil website you will then receive a confirmation email in reply with a reference number. The reference number can used for further follow up action if required.
So set up that MyCouncil account or jump on the phone during office hours and have something done to smarten up your raingarden!
