Doctor Regina Greenwood is hoping to officially open her practice at the new Bellvista Market Place shopping centre as soon as Telstra has connected a broadband connection. This is a ‘must have’ to allow the practice to operate effectively. Telstra has promised to have the connection available on Thursday. It had been expected the connection would have been available last week but there has been a problem with Telstra.
The Bakery was awaiting a Fire Safety certificate to officially open for business. It was expected this clearance would be available Monday afternoon. The shop is now open and I can personally recommend their Meat Pies at $3 each.
The Chemist is open for business.
Hairy Haircuts is expected to be open for business Wednesday morning.
Spa Daze is open as well and has some deals going as “Opening Specials”. Might be worth popping down, having a look and book in for an “Opening Special”. There is a limit on the number “Opening Specials” available so you will need to be quick.
The prospective Newsagent was denied a licence causing that lease to fall through.
A Fast Food outlet (fish ‘n chips) seems a popular request from residents for one of the vacant shops while a representative from Mal Pratt & Associates believes a Post Office would be a great asset for Bellvista Market Place.
The IGA opening is still 5 to 6 weeks away.
The Tavern is expected to be operating mid 2011. Work on laying the concrete slab has been delayed until a lessee has been finalized. The prospective lessee may have plumbing or other service requirements which would need to be incorporated in planning prior to pouring a slab. It is hoped the slab will be poured prior to Christmas 2010.
Following concerns raised by local residents with BeCA regarding the brightness of the car park lights, the lighting cycle has now been adjusted so the carpark lights will turned off nightly at 8:30pm.
