The September Meeting for BeCA was mainly devoted to bringing new Management Committee Members up to date on issues and to finalize outstanding issues which may have been overlooked.
Bob Smith reported that the new LGM Mowing firm contracted to mow the grass on the estate were keen to maintain close ties with BeCA to solve any issues which may arise. Bob will follow up on a concern raised regarding overgrown flowerbeds on the footpath to the eastern side of Bellvista Market Place.
Committees were sorted out for the next 12 months and new Management Committee Members were quick to be involved. You can check committee membership HERE.
It was resolved that BeCA would request that Stockland name one of their parks or open spaces in the new Bellvista II development “Cr Anna Grosskreutz Park” in recognition of the support Anna has provided the Bellvista community during its formative development years.
It was resolved that the speakers for the next Public Meeting (Nov 7th) would be another presentation for Stockland to update Bellvista II Development news, and Mr “Mick” Graham would be invited to speak on his views on the future of Caloundra Airport.
BeCA has opted to send 7 representatives to the Stockland Caloundra South Information Session on Wednesday September 21st at midday. Residents are welcome to attend any of the 4 information sessions set down for September 21st and 23rd. You can access all the details HERE.
Other matters dealt with included the Bellvista Blvd/Berkey Place issue, the proposed bus stop on Bellvista Blvd, the Airport Draft Masterplan Meeting, vandalism, street signage (To Caloundra signs have been requested but are still to be installed), and the shade sail for the playground equipment in Rawson St.
BeCA is to follow up on the requested Bus Stop seating for bus stops in Stornaway Ave and O’Reilly Drive as well as removing the old Bellvista Blvd unsafe crossing point.
BeCA will again endeavour to contact Grant Kenny to informally discuss Bellvista resident concerns on the behaviour of Chopperline helicopters above the estate. BeCA has previously attempted to contact Mr Kenny but the attempt was unsuccessful.
The next Management Committee Meeting will be on October 3rd.
