Stockland have installed ‘safety fencing’ along the eastern side of Bellvista Blvd from the crossing point at the foot of the hill all the way down to Arbour in preparation for the major upgrade to the sewer system in Bellvista and Bells Reach and eventually into Caloundra South.
BeCA alerted residents to this new work over a fortnight ago in this website entry (here).
The entry into Indigo Rd off Bellvista Blvd will be closed for several days to allow the pipe to be laid there and to allow the reconfiguring of the intersection to permit a right hand turn into Bellvista Blvd. This intersection work should occur during the upcoming September school holidays, well outside of any school pick up or drop off time.
Drilling equipment will be used at the Bells Reach Drive/Bellvista Blvd intersection for laying the pipe and will thus ensure access to Bells Reach during construction.
Stockland are hopeful that weather permitting the new pipe will be laid by Christmas.
Early in 2016 a second pipe will be laid alongside the sewer pipes to upgrade the water supply.
