Stockland continues to work on the veloway and is currently completing veloway road crossing works. Modifications have been made to the Turquoise Place/Bellvista Blvd roundabout where the road level has been raised to ensure a smooth crossing point for cyclists and pedestrians.
The photo above shows the work which has been done. Raising the road has meant reworking roadside kerbing and stormwater drainage. The new raised sections could also be seen as a traffic management tool.
Work has begun today (Tuesday) on the veloway crossing at Bells Reach Drive and Bellvista Blvd with a view to completing all of these works prior to the resumption of school for 2017.
As with the majority of major works, completion dates can be misleading. February has always been Stockland’s aim to complete the veloway all the way from the bus stop near Bellcarra Place down to Baringa. Veloways will be a feature of the new Caloundra South project.
The aim of the opening of the new link road to provide a second entry exit for our estates was for early to mid January. The new road will connect with the first section of the Bells Creek Arterial and will join with Caloundra Rd beside the racecourse. This date has now blown out to sometime in February, hopefully earlier in February rather than later. When there is a firm date for the opening, BeCA will let you know.
Unfortunately it won’t be in operation for the beginning of the new school year.
Speaking of schools, work is expected to begin in the next week or so on the new State School in Baringa to have it ready for opening in 2018!
It’s all happening!
