BeCA will be conducting its first Public Meeting for 2016 on Monday night March 7th, beginning at 6:45pm at the Bellvista Meeting Place. All are invited to this Public Meeting and we look forward to a strong attendance.
With Council elections not far away there will be an opportunity for residents to meet with candidates for our Division1 Councillor. An invitation has been extended to all candidates to attend and where possible there will be a quick opportunity for them to speak to the audience and a greater opportunity after the meeting for you to chat with them.
The major presentation for this first meeting will be from the Sunshine Coast Council Disaster Hub. This organisation will go through its plans for a quick response to any major disaster which could impact on the local community. It should be an informative session.
Late in 2015 BeCA enjoyed the company of the current (but now retiring) Federal Parliament member for Fisher, Mal Brough. Following the announcement of his decision not to contest any upcoming Federal election, there will be a new Federal representative for our area. The ALP Candidate will be Bill Glissane and he has accepted an invitation to speak at Monday’s meeting.
The Sunshine Coast has seemed to be on the short end of the stick when it comes Federally funded projects. Can Bill Glissane provide the impetus for a greater Federal focus on our area for the betterment of our lifestyle?
Come to Monday’s Meeting and hear what he has to say.
Councillor Rick Baberowski will be in attendance and bring us up to date on the latest happenings around our area.
After the meeting you can enjoy a ‘cuppa’ and a further chat!
6:45, Monday March 7th, Bellvista Meeting Place!
