BeCa has heard from SCRC regarding the condition of the parks on our estate. Evidently some concerns over long grass have been raised by residents directly to SCRC. The continuing wet weather has made keeping up with grass mowing impossible. BeCA has been told that our parks will not be forgotten and as soon as practicable (weather permitting) the parks will be mown.
Heavy rain and SCRC employees holiday schedules has made maintaining the parklands in pristine condition impossible.
Unofficial rainfall figures for 2011 here on the estate show almost 550mls have fallen since January 1st. That is 22″ of rain in the ‘old’ scale. This is a lot of rain!
Many residents have had problems waiting for their own lawns to dry out so they can get their mower onto them. SCRC has these problems and more with parks across the region all requiring a mow!
When you see photos like the one in the post below with Kilbride Court being flooded, no wonder many of the parks remain too wet to mow!
