The pathway between the east west runway at Caloundra Aerodrome and Bells Reach has been given a great tidy up by Council Contractors following a Service Request from a local resident. Overhanging branches have been pruned away and plants bordering the pathway have been cut back leaving a wide clear pathway for all.
The untidy roadside garden reported recently has now been removed and the area turfed. Council is hopeful the nearby resident will ensure the re turfed area gets a water from time to time. It is anticipated other unsightly and unkempt roadside gardens will also be re turfed in due course. Feel free to lodge your own Service Request to have an unsightly and unkempt roadside garden re turfed near your home. Go to the Sunshine Coast MyCouncil website (HERE) sign up, open up your new “Dashboard” and lodge a Service Request. It’s as easy as that!
The ‘promised’ mowing is currently underway and all areas across Bellvista, Bells Reach and Arbour should have been cut by Thursday, weather permitting. So the sight such as we see in the photo above will just be a bad memory!
Some graffiti has appeared around Canavan Gracie and a resident has forwarded a “Service Request” to have it removed. There appears to have been a spike in graffiti tagging so BeCA has approached our Councillor to fast track an audit of graffiti affected areas between our estates and Bunnings and to have the offensive tagging removed.
If you have any other Parks & Gardens concerns, especially involving rain gardens or biopods, you need to get along to tonight’s BeCA Public Meeting at 6:45 tonight at Bellvista Meeting Place where the maintenance of rain gardens and biopods will be a major focus. We will also have reports from Council and a policing update from Senior Constable Peter.
The evening will conclude with a quiet Christmas gathering where you can enjoy a bit to eat, a hot drink or the odd convivial sip, all supplied by The Positive Property People.
It promises to be an informative evening and all are invited.
