BeCA has received several messages from people regarding especially noisy aircraft behaviour over the recent period, especially on the night of the January 6th. It seems a robbery at Currimundi drew a response from “Polair”, the Police Helicopter. BeCA believes the police helicopter was in the air for a couple of hours over the Sugarbag Rd area while it continued its search for those responsible.
A traffic accident also drew a response from the Emergency Services Helicopters and Polair, causing further aircraft activity over heads.
BeCA will always support the wonderful work done by both the Emergency Services Helicopters and Polair as they do a superb job keeping residents safe and supplying emergency aid as required.
Residents in Bells Reach and Arbour have been notified of partial road closures at roundabouts between Bellvista Blvd and Turquoise Place, Bells Reach Drive and Indigo Rd over the next 4 weeks or so. This is to allow the completion of the construction of the new veloway where it crosses these roads.
Currently work is continuing at the Turquoise Place and Bellvista Blvd roundabout (see the photo above). The roadway out of Turquoise Place has been raised to allow for a smooth crossing point for the veloway. Re forming the concrete roadside kerb has also been necessary. Raising the road level has had implications for storm water control so a new concrete spoon drain is being installed as well.
The recent installation of a number of culverts along Bellvista Blvd near to Turquoise Place has now been covered with soil as the photo below shows. This will allow construction of the veloway and provides a snapshot of how a duplicated Bellvista Blvd could look.
