Mowing contractors were at work first thing this morning cutting the grass. Hopefully any wet weather forecast for early next week will not force the postponement of getting all the parks mowed.
5 BeCA Committee Members took part in the Caloundra Journal photo shoot yesterday for an article which will outline residents’ concerns over Bellvista Blvd. It is thought the article will appear in next week’s edition of the Journal.
Several BeCA representatives met with Maree Machin recently to help arrange a public forum most likely for Sunday April 10 at the Land Sales Office. The purpose of the forum can be viewed below and is the first stage of local consultation by Stockland regarding open spaces in Bellvista2:
“The workshop is an opportunity for members of the Bellvista community to share their thoughts and experience of the uses and priorities of open space and parks. The outcome from the workshop will help to inform the landscape architects who are designing the plans for this and other open space in Bellvista II.
It would be great to work with a group of between 10 and 15 community members who represent a broad cross-section of the Bellvista community – young families, more mature families, older couples, single people …. each of these groups may have a particular view on what is important for these shared spaces.
Input from community of Bellvista as to the features that are important for the park/ open space elements of Bellvista II with particular focus on the preferred elements or features of the neighbourhood park (I)
What is important in creating parks/ open space that suits all ages and stages?
How can you make open space / parks high use, safe, valued and loved community assets?
What might this look like for this first park?
Top priorities for this park?
The workshop will be highly interactive and participants will enjoy lots of opportunity to share ideas, explore concepts and play with some of the tools of the trade of open space design (butter paper, swatches etc)”
BeCA will discuss this more fully at its Committee Meeting on Monday evening. Contact the Secretary HERE if you would like to participate.
