Tree planting along Bellvista Blvd and the entrance to the new Bells Reach estate is almost completed. Large palm trees have been planted in the middle of the Bellvista Blvd/Stornaway Avenue roundabout. (Click on the photo for a larger view.)
The Display Village is also powering ahead.
BeCA understands that some early stages of Federal Approval for Caloundra South have been completed successfully. Final Federal Govt approval is not expected until mid 2013.
Stockland has received Main Roads Dept approval to remove a section of the solid white line on Bellvista Blvd separating turning lanes at the intersection with Caloundra Rd. This will allow motorists exiting the western section of Old Caloundra Rd to legally cross into the right turn lane to go towards Caloundra along Caloundra Rd. You can read more about this issue at the foot of the post HERE. Shadforths have been requested by Stockland to complete the work ASAP.
Stockland have requested time at the BeCA AGM to make a presentation to residents on updates to the Bells Reach and Caloundra South Projects. The AGM is BeCA’s next “Public Meeting” and is due to be held on Monday August 6th. Not only will we have a presentation from Stockland but Local MP Mark McArdle and our new Councillor Rick Baberowski will be in attendance as well.
BeCA has been informed by Stockland that the old Land Sales Office is to be fitted out with 40 chairs. This will be a godsend for BeCA. Previously we have had to borrow chairs from Unity College which required a pick up and return. This was enough of a hassle during dry weather but it was torturous in wet stormy conditions. It is anticipated the chairs will be available for our August 6th meeting.
