Thanks to Stockland for replacing the net at the tennis court. Not only has the net been replaced but the net posts have been replaced as well. They have been sunk more deeply to ensure that they are less likely to be dragged in by people sitting on the net cord.

The lakes in the main Bellvista park near the Land sales Office are a major feature of the estate. The area around the lakes is great for residents to stroll around or for cyclists to use.
A problem across the whole SCRC region for such waterways is that of azolla, an ugly red growth which appears on the surface of man made lakes and slowly but surely expands and eventually can cover the whole lake surface.
In 2010 the problem was so bad here at Bellvista that SCRC was forced to have contractors come in and clean both lakes. A rotting stinking mess accumulated on the lakes banks until contractors were able to ship it to the tip! You can get rid of nearly all the azolla but cannot rid the lake of it entirely. It will return as weather conditions permit.
Heavy rain over the summer again washed 95% of the azolla from the lakes. However it again appears to be creeping its way across the lakes, especially the top lake as the photo below shows. Click on the photo below for a larger view.
