Mark McArdle’s Bus Stop Closures and Baringa School Bus Forum was conducted recently.
In regard to Bus Stop Closures in Bellvista and Bells Reach, it is possible the door to having bus stops re opened is just slightly ajar. In apologizing for being unable to attend the Forum, the Minister For Transport and Main Roads Mark Bailey mentioned he was agreeable to having Translink representatives meet with members of the BeCA Association to explain the reasoning behind Translink’s decision to close bus stops and also to listen to residents’ concerns.
As a result BeCA has requested that a Public meeting to be attended by Translink Representatives be arranged for sometime during the next month.
BeCA is extremely keen to provide a face to face opportunity for all residents to explain to Translink how the closure of these bus stops has markedly disadvantaged all of them, especially the elderly.
A copy of the Minister’s letter of apology to Mark McArdle appears below.
