The BeCA Facebook page usually gets a little banter from time to time but today there have been a large number of posts (for the BeCA Facebook Page) regarding late night helicopter flights overheard last night (Tues) well after 10:30 pm.
BeCA has received the following response from Sunshine Coast Airport Management after we inquired about the activity.
We have ascertained that “Lifesaver 6” the Westpac rescue helicopter based at Caloundra Aerodrome was doing Night Vision Goggle training last night. They were the only operational radio calls heard after 10 pm. It is a twin engine helicopter so that may account for queries whether it was military or emergency services.
Thanks SC Airport Management for your response!
