Don’t let the promise of wet weather deter you from attending the major “Road Safety” BeCA Public Meeting on this Monday, Monday June 6th at the Bellvista Meeting Place at the earlier time of 6:30pm.
There will be reports from the developer, Stockland on planned upgrades, Council will be there as well to provide their input. There will also be local residents providing a first hand view of what is happening along with representation from the Queensland Police Service.
Unity College President Peter Baxter is attending as well to voice concerns and to report on upcoming action to improve road safety during school pick and drop off times.
Mark McArdle, the local MP will also be on hand to inform the community of what assistance a state government can provide.
This is the chance for residents to raise their views and concerns with many of the planning decision makers of our area. It is an opportunity to provide feedback so that future planning for future communities has high profile regarding public road safety.
The new “Keep Left” road signs in Indigo Rd continue to take a battering from errant motorists who are travelling too fast. They are again to be replaced.
What is really required is a change of attitude from road users driving in our area. There continues to be near misses from the poor judgment from drivers turning right out of Indigo Rd into Bellvista Blvd. Hardly a week goes by when there isn’t another close shave at this intersection. Speeding motorists along Indigo Rd continues to be a problem.
And Peter Hovey from the Australian Bureau of Statistics will make a presentation on what is going to happen around August 9th, Australia’s Census Night.
Note the earlier start time for this meeting at 6:30pm.
At the end of the meeting you can have a hot cuppa and a biscuit while you continue to have one on one discussions with our speakers.
This is an important meeting for all residents of Bellvista and Bells Reach and we look forward to seeing all concerned residents, 6:30 pm, Monday Bellvista Meeting Place.
