The sale of blocks of land in the new Aura suburb of Baringa seem to be flying. At this stage Stockland consider they will have sold 90% of blocks currently available or in a state of preparation at Baringa by the end of this year. This exceeds Stockland’s expectations and has prompted the bringing forward of several plans as Aura develops.
Currently planning and construction is getting underway to extend roads into the future Town Centre to area allow new land releases into 2018. Planning has been brought forward on the new city centre, a shopping development said to contain a shopping centre complex to rival Brisbane’s “Chermside” when complete.
An updated anticipated completion date of the Bells Creek Arterial is now under investigation.
Later this year will see several new sporting and playground facilities available in time for the opening of the new Primary School in 2018. Three soccer fields and a great playground area could be completed around spring 2017. A great new feature will be “Pedal Park”, Aura’s newest park which is located on Steiner Crescent and is due to open on June 17th. It provides facilities for a range of ages, and includes:
– Half court netball/ half court basketball
– Children’s bike track, incorporating adventurous terrain for the daredevils
– Picnic shelters & BBQ’s
– Amenities block.
In Baringa, the major focus so far has been on land and house packages in the $400,000 – $500,000 region in line with current real estate market trends. A premium development area with larger blocks and more extensive surrounds is due to be announced by Stockland in the near future aimed at those looking for a higher priced opportunity to buy and build. The ‘Premium’ area named ‘The Elements at Aura’ will contain blocks from 375 square metres up to 1,110 square metres for larger home developments.
It seems the beginning of 2018 and the opening of the new school is the trigger point for many of Baringa’s new facilities to come on line.
Stockland’s Bells Reach Land Sales Centre is in the process of moving to Baringa as well. The former Bells Reach site is under redevelopment and should be completed around mid to late 2018.
There will be more retail opportunities available, a new café and a new permanent toilet facility built. There will be some extended parking as well.
We can expect to see this thriving area grow at a greater than expected rate bringing new and exciting facilities and services to our area.
