Again Bellvista is on the receiving end of helicopter activity above our estate on what first appeared to be a glorious Sunday morning. The activity began around 8 am and since then we have seen two large helicopters from Maroochydore’s Becker Helicopters carry out repetitive ‘touch n’ go’s’.
BeCA has lodged its concerns with the relative authorities but we are but one voice. If residents really want to do something there needs to be a large number of emails.
Complaints are dealt with by the number received. Therefore the more responses, the more serious the incident is perceived by Sunshine Coast Airport Management, Local Councillors and Members of Parliament.
The piece below was added to the BeCA Airport Noise Complaints web page this morning for resident information.
If only one or two responses are received the incident will be considered a minor one. The more emails from residents the better the response the incident will receive.
One of the new Noosa Council’s first resolutions to be passed is to ban commercial helicopters from using Teewah Aerodrome currently being used by Becker Helicopters. We could therefore expect to receive increased activity at Caloundra Airport when Becker is forced to relocate some of its training programs.
This also makes the creation of a Satellite Helicopter Training Facility for this end of the Sunshine Coast an even higher priority.
Our Facebook page is very busy today over this issue. Euan, a Facebook poster and fixed wing pilot working out of Caloundra Aerodrome, has pointed out that the helicopter activity above the estate this morning is all within guidelines and policies set down by CASA. Check out our Facebook Page and read Euan’s comments.
BeCA acknowldges that all aircraft activity this morning is within any guidelines set down by CASA.
Making Your Own Email Complaint to Local Authorities:
The following email contacts may be of use when you wish to lodge your personal concerns over aircraft activity above our estate. Complaints are usually ranked by number, the more emails complaining, the better the response. So emails from 50 residents would carry much more weight than a single complaint lodged by BeCA on your behalf.
