Local MP Mark McArdle has been requested by the Premier to determine a preferred option from residents when it comes to the further development of residential areas of the Sunshine Coast especially Caloundra South post 2030.
Currently there are two suggestions for this development post 2030, 1/ Beerwah East or 2/ Halls Creek.
Both suggestions have their advantages and disadvantages. A summary sheet covering both options can be viewed HERE. It is a 600kb pdf document. Or this 2 page document can be viewed below.
The Sunshine Coast Council is supporting the Beerwah East proposal. This may turn out to be the more expensive option as the government would be forced to buy back on a 99 year lease from the forestry industry. No such cost limitation exists at Halls Creek. The Halls Creek option may have some environmental impact according to some.
For others the Inter Urban break between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane is crucial. You can download/view a pdf document on this issue HERE It is a 250kb pdf file.
A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) summary on the issue can be viewed HERE. This is a 250kb pdf. This is well worth reading.
When you have read on the issue you are then encouraged to return a survey to Mark McArdle’s Office before the end of September. BeCA urges as many residents as possible to return the survey. You can read, download and complete the the survey from HERE. It is a 250kb pdf document.
