Following BeCA’s raising the problem of dust with Stockland there has been a commitment to carry out more regular dampening down of problem areas. Stockland have also committed to sweeping Bellvista Blvd to cut down on dirt which eventually turns to dust being carried by construction vehicles entering and leaving the site from the road.
Residents continue to suffer from the dust arising from the extremely dry conditions and low humidity. The low humidity makes the evaporation rate even higher. Bellvista hasn’t had any recordable fall of rain for around 5 weeks. Even front lawns are showing the effect of the lack of rain.
There is a possibility of showers later this week which would lead to a natural solution to the problem.
Stockland will water the new work area several times each day in an effort to keep the level of dust down.
The earthworks will eventually be the turfed median strip between a future duplicated Bellvista Blvd. At this stage the whole area is to be turfed to create a ‘green’ entry into Bells Reach.
