The family of ducks which inhabit around the Bellvista Blvd and Dumbarton Drive roundabout have been hit by a vehicle (reported as a silver sedan) while they were crossing the road. One of the adult ducks was killed sometime last week, possibly by an animal. Now there are only three ducklings and one adult left. BeCA has been told the silver sedan which hit the ducks did not stop. However several following vehicles did stop to try to help the surviving duck and ducklings.
We can only hope that all motorists slow down on our estate and be careful of the wildlife.
With many young families in the area, ducks are not the only form of life we ask motorists to consider when using Bellvista Streets.
Please contact the BeCA Secretary if any of the facts in this post are incorrect.
