There is construction going on at the main park area as well as at Bellvista Market Place. Though not leased as yet, the Bellvista Tavern is only 2 months away from completion.
The photo below left shows construction of the toilet block just near the Land Sales Office is well underway as well. Click on the each photo for a larger view.
And work is being done by Stockland to clear the area of the park near Bellcarra Retirement Resort for sale. See the photo below right. Click on the photo for a larger view.
The site is advertised as a Child Care Centre site but the buyer would not be restricted to that business as it is listed as ‘multiple purpose’. Bellcarra residents are involved in deep discussion with Stockland to ensure there is minimal impact for residents adjacent to the block for sale.
Residents say they bought those units under the belief that they backed on to a peaceful park, not a site for a future business. Maps when they bought their Bellcarra Units showed the site which is currently for sale was a park area. Had they have known it was the site for a future business they would not have bought those units.
Stockland (who now own Bellcarra Retirement Resort) are endeavouring to appease the unit owners (some of whom are in the 80’s) to ensure there is minimal impact on their lifestyle by proposing all of the bushland near the fenceline be retained as a buffer zone between the new business and the Bellcarra unit owners. A Stockland representative was onsite this morning discussing options with a resident on all aspects of his concerns. Hopefully this issue can be resolved to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
