The roadworks at the top of Bellvista Blvd are well underway. Some delays are being experienced by drivers but if it means the Bellvista Blvd/Caloundra Rd intersection will be improved, then residents will ‘wear it’.
The answer to the problem is to improve Caloundra Rd traffic movements. BeCA suspects options are already being considered on how traffic movements along Caloundra Rd can be improved, especially as housing development continues and Caloundra South comes into being.
So the choices may well be to widen Caloundra Rd or to consider new road alternatives.
Neither of these courses of action has been decided upon as yet, but you could suggest quite reasonably that planners are looking at the situation right now.
LGM, the SC Council Lawn Mowing Sub-Contractors descended upon Bellvista recently and by the end of the day most parks and other lawn areas had received a mow. The place now looks a million dollars!
The Bellvista Gardening team finishes on Wednesday Dec 24th and they return on January 5th. They continue to do a great job despite dwindling resources and a constant change of personnel. BeCA remains in close contact with SC Council on this issue.
