Rain Gardens (or Biopods) are an environmentally friendly method of treating storm-water prior to it entering the eco-system. They were introduced into this estate during the later stages of the estate’s development. They can be found around the estate in areas including Gippsland Place, Feathertop Crescent and other areas. This environmentally friendly method of pre-treating storm water to lessen any ill effect on the environment ‘down stream’ will be a major feature of Bells Reach and Caloundra South.
As sensitive areas, it is important that residents do all they can to ensure rain gardens or biopods can work as effectively as possible. Hopefully the information below will be useful to residents living in areas serviced by rain gardens (biopods).
