Biopods are an important component of Stockland’s storm water management process. Biopods ensure storm water is cleaned of many contaminants and rubbish before entering the streams and waterways around the Sunshine Coast.
Much of this storm water finds its way into the environmentally sensitive Pumicestone Passage.
Therefore the care of these biopods is extremely important.
Regretfully BeCA has received reports that some vandalism is occurring at some of the biopods on the Bellvista Estate. Plastic caps on pipes are being broken causing those biopods to not operate fully effectively.
The SC Council Parks and Gardens Supervisor has asked that all residents be aware of the importance of these vital pieces of infrastructure and the need for them to be properly maintained so that all stormwater is filtered effectively before entering the waterways.
Please report cases of vandalism to “Policelink” on 131444 or contact Sunshine Coast Council on (07) 5420 8200.
