Six BeCA members attended the second session today of Stockland’s Background Information Forum on Caloundra South at the Kawana Community Centre. The presentation focussed on Caloundra South rather than Bellvista II and covered everything from duplicating Bellvista Blvd to concern for Dugongs in the Pumicestone Passage.
The presentation provided a snapshop of the development and the wide range of issues which go into planning such a huge 30 year project. Views of the Glasshouse Mountains, a plan B in case the train connection is further delayed, flood prone land and everything else imaginable to do with Caloundra South. The photo of the white board shown here is a quick example of the wide range of issues which were explored.
The meeting was designed to inform the community about the project and then to seek further community feedback on any issues. BeCA representatives again raised the issue of Bellvista Blvd and the proximity to the airport and the resultant helicopter noise.
