Better Buses for Baringa have organised a media interview tomorrow morning Tuesday 19/02/19 at 11am opposite Baringa School.
Since the announcement of the delay in building a high school at Aura/Baringa, Better Buses for Baringa have been campaigning for a dedicated school bus service for high school students who currently reside in Baringa, who need to get to Meridan College and other high schools within the area. Unfortunately, so far this campaign has fallen on deaf ears.
The new 606 Bus Run to start on Monday 25th March is supposed to address this shortfall in school services by making these kids catch the public bus run to other high schools, however this is not the solution for the dedicated school service the families have been looking for.
The new 606 Bus Run also severely impacts the Bellvista & Bells Reach families who regularly use the soon to be closed 603 Bus Run by taking away six bus stops which have been in service for 10 years plus. This service has been taken away from Bellvista & Bells Reach communities without any prior public consultation, or consultation at any level.
If you would like to support all our communities, Bellvista, Bells Reach, Arbour & Aura/Baringa and can make the media interview tomorrow it would be much appreciated.
