After almost a week of drizzly weather, the contractors working on new homes at both Bells Reach and Arbour estates welcomed the blue skies and dry weather that greeted them today. Unofficial readings indicate we have had around 50mls of rain (or 2″) over the last week or so. Most days have seen minimal totals but enough to make things unpleasant.
Many cyclists and walkers were out and about again too this morning enjoying the sunshine.
Don’t forget the Caloundra West Lions Proposal meeting tonight at the Bellvista Meeting Place at 7pm. Click HERE for all information.
Did you know some homes here at Bellvista are unable to connect to ADSL because of a shortage of ADSL connections? Yes it is 2015! Did you know many residents (and businesses) in Bellvista only have access to ADSL 1 speeds.
This is despite Bells Reach and Arbour homes being automatically connected to the NBN. BeCA sought to have the NBN connected to all Bellvista homes when Bells Reach was first being connected.
We were told that Bells Reach was a ‘new’ area and was being connected automatically. However Bellvista was a ‘to be upgraded’ area and was handled by a totally different NBN department. So there was no ability to upgrade Bellvista when Bells Reach was being connected as Bellvista wasn’t on the ‘Upgrade List”.
To do so would have been cost saving one would have thought!
Finally, the June edition of the “Connector” should be available for delivery in the next day or so. Hopefully printing will be completed today. It is then up to our wonderful volunteer deliverers to get them out to all Bells Reach, Arbour and Bellvista homes in the next week or so.
We are always on the lookout for more volunteer Newsletter deliverers so contact our secretary by email or phone (details here) if you are able to help out.
The more the merrier! When the weather is like it is today, delivering a few newsletters in the sunshine is a very pleasant way to spend an hour or so.
