BeCA had access to the soon to be handed over Bellvista Meeting Place this morning (Thursday). The 60 or so chairs were being returned to the building so they would be available for the ‘official’ handover from Stockland to Sunshine Coast Council tomorrow (Friday).
The former Stockland Land Sales Office has been refurbished and is to be handed over to the Sunshine Coast Council as a public facility. This would be ‘in lieu of other public space obligations Stockland would have had to contribute within the Bells Reach and Caloundra South developments.
The new building will be known as “Bellvista Meeting Place”.
Some final work is still being carried out on the facility as the handover gets closer.
The sail supports and anchor points are ready, all that is needed now is the sail which will cover the decking.
The area of the building is quite large and some modifications have created a storage area as well as extending the main body of the building.
You too can see what has been done when you attend the September BeCA Public Meeting at the Bellvista Meeting Place 6:45pm on Monday September 1st.
Local MP Mark McArdle will be present as will our local Councillor Rick Baberowski.
All Bellvista and Bells Reach residents are welcome to come along and enjoy this wonderful new public facility on Monday evening!
