A small group, including representatives from Sunshine Council Staff, Mayor Jamieson, Cr Rick Baberowski, Stockland, representatives from the Kawana Forest Residents Association and BeCA attended the official hand over on Friday evening of the Bellvista Meeting Place as a Community facility.
Much of the evening was enjoyed on the decking area under the sail. The Mayor praised Stockland, Cr Baberowski, members of the Sunshine Coast Council Team and the Bellvista/Bells Reach communities for their resolve in seeing the task through to a successful conclusion.
The process for the handover was fraught with pitfalls and obstacles, but in due course it was completed successfully and the Bellvista Meeting Place is now a reality.
A ‘draft’ Bellvista Meeting Place Fact Sheet has be drawn up for potential hirers and a copy can be seen below for use by the interim management group. A key for those wishing to hire the building will be available locally. When finalized, the updated Fact Sheet, Venue Hire Application and Sunshine Coast Council Conditions of Hire forms will be available.
In due course a permanent management team will manage bookings and the operation of the facility. It is anticipated the selection of the successful full time and on-going applicant will be announced within two months and a more permanent management arrangement will make hiring the facility even easier
Local Community Groups can hire the facility at $16 per hour, regular classes and workshops $19 per hour, and commercial organizations and private functions $22 per hour.
A .zip package of all the draft hire documents can be downloaded HERE. It must be emphasized that these are draft documents only and will be subject to further updates.
