Many Bellvista residents find their ADSL internet connection slow and congested.
There appears to be 6 RIM’s across Bellvista. These Rims are like small telephone exchanges and serve local areas of Bellvista. Some Rims have been upgraded to ADSL2+ and have increased capacity to relieve congestion. All Rims are numbered, those with a Rim number beginning with “G” are the upgraded Rims with the faster connections. Those beginning with CA are the original ADSL2 slower connections.
Some Rims serve two areas designated by Telstra. For example the recently upgraded rim G100 (previously labelled CA 100 as in the photo) is near the roundabout of O’reilly Drive and Dumbarton Avenue. It serve two areas, one around the lower end of Samson Court, the other sections the two original stages of the Bellvista Estate. Rim G100 serves area DA100 and area DA110.
This link will open an xml sheet with some information about the 6 rims on the Bellvista estate. On the sheet are also links to overall area maps and there are other links which will take you to detailed maps of the area(s) serviced.
You never know, you may be connected to a “G” rim and have access to ADSL2+?
