Contractors expect to begin work on resurfacing Bellvista Blvd between Dumbarton Drive and Stornaway Avenue next week, possibly on Tuesday January 15th. Work should be completed by the end of the school holidays and should not effect traffic during 2019 school drop off and pick up times. BeCA understands the contractor will suffer fines if they fail to meet their completion date deadline.
At this stage there will be only one detour advocated and that is via Indigo Rd and Bells Reach Drive. BeCA has raised its concerns over speeding drivers along Indigo Rd, especially near parklands and playgrounds. If required, the contractor will place extra traffic controllers at these points to ensure resident safety is maintained and to keep driver speeds to a safe level.
Of course there is an alternative detour available via Stornaway Ave, Lomond Cres, Balmoral Blvd and Dumbarton Drive. At this stage, there will not be any traffic control along this route. This should be an excellent alternative route for many Bellvista residents while the resurfacing works are in progress.
The contractor has promised open communication channels between itself and BeCA and is keen to hear of any resident concerns.
A Fact Sheet on the works is to be delivered to all Bellvista and Bells Reach homes. BeCA has requested a pdf copy of the Fact Sheet and will display it below when it becomes available.
