Since the old crossing point at the foot of the hill on Bellvista Blvd has been replaced with a much safer option closer to the Dumbarton Drive roundabout, the crossing and other warning signs are now out of order. SCRC has informed BeCA these signs are to be re ordered to make it more relevant to drivers regarding possible hazards ahead. The re ordering was at BeCA’s request.
Unless weather intervenes, the roundabout on Bellvista Blvd/Bellcarra Place should be fully operational by mid February. The designated left turn lane and reworking of the roundabout at the Bellvista Blvd/Caloundra Rd intersection should be completed by the end of February (weather permitting). There will be some disruption to traffic while roadworks are completed especially during school drop off and pick up times. Queensland schools are set to resume from Monday January 23rd.
Recently a Bellvista resident noted the behaviour of a driver who appeared to be driving recklessly and possibly endangering the lives of children who were on school holidays. The resident noted the vehicle’s registration number and contacted Caloundra police to report the incident. When it comes to preserving children’s lives, any response such as this by a resident is welcomed.
The Bells Reach Information and Sales Office staff have been very pleased with the response to inquiries since it opened recently. Some anecdotal evidence indicates that families who are occupying rental properties on our estate are especially interested in the opportunity to settle permanently in the area, especially Bells Reach.
