Bells Reach Road Safety Concerns

By BeCA Administration Dated : 26-05-2016

IMG_3147BeCA urges all parents in both Bellvista and Bells Reach to continue to urge their children to exercise extreme care when using the roads around the estates.

Despite the best efforts of Stockland, Council and others, it seems some road users continue to drive without enough caution on some of the local roads.

The sign in the photo above was recently installed to slow drivers down along Indigo Road and Bells Reach Drive.  This is quite a tight corner and large delivery and construction trucks can find negotiating these corners extremely difficult.  That most drivers can safely negotiate these tight turns it is obvious some are unable to do so. Council has been contacted to replace the sign.

For some drivers Sky Rd has become a diversion for them to use so as they do no need to negotiate a tight turn at Bells Reach Drive/Indigo Rd intersection.  For others Indigo Rd remains a place where some drivers can ignore speed restrictions, thus continuing to put the lives and well-being of Bells Reach residents at risk.

Please have a word to your children and urge them to exercise extreme care when crossing roads., especially if they plan to visit Active Park on Indigo Rd.

Attend the next Public Meeting at the Bellvista Meeting Place on June 6th at 6:30pm where Road Safety is the major theme and continue to voice your concerns to our presenters at this meeting.  You can read more about this meeting HERE.  Or read the comments attached to this post for one resident’s continuing concerns.
