Saturday 30th May marks another milestone for our community, our first community garden! Bells Reach Community Garden will be officially launched between 8:00 am and 9:00 am in the Active Park (on the corner of Indigo Road and Amber Drive). The garden has been created by the community, for the community. It’s a place where residents of all ages can come together to socialize and make new friends as they share skills, learn and work side-by-side to grow fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables.
All local residents are invited to come along and celebrate the opening with the garden sub-committee members, sponsors and Stockland representatives.
Activities on the day will include the following:
- Free fruit smoothies
- Planting out the plots
- Hand print art that will be scanned, laser cut and then used as public art and attached to the shared plots
- Painting communal tools
- Building bamboo climbers
- Information and sign up stall
- Free goody bags to people that sign up
- Free cake from BELLS church group
The Bellvista & Bells Reach Community Association would like to thank Hannah from Stockland and the Bells Reach Community Garden Sub-Committee members, for all of the time and hard work you all contributed to getting the garden up and running.
Special thanks must also go to all of the sponsors who very generously supplied financial donations, materials, plants and labour. Without you all there would be no garden, thank you everyone.
