Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace has a survey on his Facebook Page on Federal Govt support for bringing the construction of the Bells Creek Arterial (BCA) forward.
Currently the Bells Creek Arterial is to be constructed totally at Stockland’s expense. In its agreement with the State Government, Stockland has only to extend the BCA as the Caloundra South development grows. Originally it was expected Stockland would have the road completed by 2030.
However the fast growth at Caloundra South brought that completion date forward to the mid 2020’s, still another 5 years away.
With the continued fast growth of that area, the completion date may have been brought forward even further again, possibly 2023.
The completion of the BCA would see the State Government plan and construct a connecting link road between the new roundabout on Pelican Waters Blvd and connect with Aura Blvd just before the bridge at Arbour.
In the meantime Caloundra Rd struggles to cope with the ever increasing flow of traffic. The completion of the BCA and the construction of the new link road would create an alternative for traffic currently using Caloundra Rd.
It would also reduce the congestion on Bellvista Blvd during school pick up and drop off times.
