Work has commenced on a new bus stop by the Sunshine Coast Council at Bellvista Boulevard, Caloundra near Bellcarra Place.
Division 1 Councillor Anna Grosskreutz said that the work is a part of Sunshine Coast Council’s commitment to increasing the public transport network across the region.
“Council is constructing a new bus stop to increase the public transport services available in the area,” Cr Grosskreutz said.
“Work will include the installation of a shelter that will provide a safe all-weather access point for public transport users. A new pathway 40 metres in length will also be installed and will extend from the bus stop to provide safe access for all users.”
“The project is programmed to start the week commencing 19 September 2011 and completion is anticipated within two weeks (weather permitting). During the construction, a number of trees will need to be removed in order for the work to proceed. These will be offset by revegetation works.”
Property access may be affected for short durations and council officers will contact affected residents to discuss timing if work is likely to block entrances, prevent access or affect parking. Your patience during construction is appreciated.”
“Work will commence during the school holidays to reduce traffic disruptions. Traffic management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists.”
