Monday night’s Public Meeting, 6:45pm Bellvista Meeting Place, all are welcome, is shaping as one of BeCA’s biggest nights ever. With the recent calling of a State Election by Anastacia Palaszczuk, a situation has developed where BeCA has as it’s speakers for this meeting, both the sitting LNP Member Mark McArdle and his ALP opposition candidate Jason Hunt.
Stockland has requested a few minutes as well with Hannah Madill to bring people up to date on all the latest happenings regarding the duplication of Bellvista Blvd from Caloundra Rd to the Dumbarton Drive roundabout. Work is due to commence in December and be completed by May, weather permitting.
Noel Baggs, the principal of the the new Baringa State Primary School will close out the meeting with an update on the school’s opening for the first school day of 2018.
After the meeting, Bellvista’s Positive Property People will supply an array of Christmas nibbles and drinks served by members of the new and expanding Caloundra West Lions Club to wind up a fabulous meeting and the 2017 year.
Following representation from BeCA, Council had agreed to bring the parks and gardens under its control across Bells Reach up to much improved standard. It appears they forgot about the Bells Reach Park under their control in Arbour, and as a result, its maintenance upgrade has been overlooked. BeCA has made a hasty claim back to Council to have this oversight corrected. Council’s wheels move slowly and despite notifying Council early last week, no such mowing has yet occurred.
What worries some Arbour residents is the possibility of the noxious weed “Groundsell” now growing there. If it matures and flowers, we can expect a major outbreak of the weed. Hopefully, this situation can remedied by Council sooner rather than later.
BeCA has been notified Council is investigating the turning restrictions currently in place out of Indigo Rd onto Bellvista Blvd. This is probably going to be a lengthy process as both Stockland and Council went to great lengths to have the restrictions implemented in the initial planning stages.
Don’t forget, BeCA’s Public Meeting, this Monday November 6th, 6:45pm at the Bellvista Meeting Place. All are welcome.
