BeCA has forwarded a request to SCRC to have roadside trees pruned so as not to scratch resident’s vehicles nor to force cyclists onto the centre of the road to avoid overhanging branches. BeCA has requested Council carry out an ‘audit’ of the current situation and then prune back as required.

BeCA has previously made this request via its communication with our Parks and Gardens representative who in turn has passed it on unsuccessfully for attention. This current request has been forwarded from the Bellvista Community Association itself to support the request from SCRC Parks and Gardens.
A further request has been forwarded to SCRC regarding road signage to make entering and leaving the estate easier for drivers unfamiliar with the road layout here at Bellvista. BeCA has requested “To Caloundra” be painted on new signs to be installed at the Lomond Cres/Stornaway Drive roundabout. A sign would therefore say Stornaway Drive with an arrow pointing towards the road. Underneath it would say “To Caloundra” where appropriate.
BeCA has noticed “To Caloundra” has been added to some roadway signs in Pelican Waters.
BeCA has also been informed by SCRC that there is no plan to create a permanent all weather pull off section on Bellvista Blvd just near the ‘old’ crossing point as this would encourage drivers of vans etc to stop and therefore create a noise and smell nuisance for residents. Vans have been known to pull over and take lengthy phone calls while leaving their diesel motors running much to the consternation of nearby residents.
Residents can expect future planting to occur around the lake shore.
