BeCA meets regularly with the supervisor of Parks and Gardens around our estate. This meeting allows us to keep up with what is happening and to provide feedback on issues we believe require attention.
The SCRC Parks and Gardens budget is not a bottomless pit. There are times when works can be done and other times when an ideal situation is just too costly to do.
BeCA has pushed for the cutting back of shrubs over growing pathways etc around Unity College. There are times when these pathways need to be as wide as safely possible to ensure young families are not put at any risk. We could expect some clearing to occur along Lomond Crescent near the school.
BeCA has suggested that the garden between the roadway on the footpath on the Lomond Cres Stornaway Drive roundabout be replaced with turf. BeCA has also asked that the footpath on the eastern side of Lomond Cres near the bus stop be cleared as well.
Other areas such as seen in this photo above/left were earmarked for attention. Line of sight problems causing concern for cyclists and pedestrians at the end of Bimberri Crt were highlighted. There are still some problems with older SCRC maps determining areas to be or not to be mown. Right now Stornaway Drive is on an area not to be mowed. Slowly but surely these problems are being corrected.
