The renaming of the main Lake Bellvista Park to Canavan/Gracie has met with a snag. The application to SCRC requires certain input from the families of the two deceased people and getting some of this information has proved difficult. BeCA continues to await a response to its numerous enquiries before the application can be forwarded to SCRC. BeCA will continue to pursue the information required into the New Year.
At least 3 representatives from BeCA will attend the Information evening where the Minister for Infrastructure and Planning and the CEO of the ULDA will speak to a community forum on issues relating to the Caloundra South and Bellvista2 developments. The forum will be conducted in the lecture room at the USC on Monday the 6th December at 6.00pm.
BeCA was interested to learn an Environmental Impact Study is to be carried out prior to the construction of the new runway at Sunshine Coast Airport. There is a possibility that light aircraft activities could be transferred from the Sunshine Coast Airport to Caloundra Airport. BeCA believes Caloundra Airport should be included in this study and will suggest that at the next Caloundra Airport Industry Forum in February 2011.
BeCA will accept the invitation to participate in discussions with the ULDA on Caloundra South and Bellvista developments.
The baffles are in place around carpark lights adjoining resident’s properties at the Bellvista Market Place following concerns raised by several residents. BeCA will be in contact with residents effected to see if further modifications are required.
